Genuity™ Roundup Ready® Winter Canola

Winter Canola and Increased Wheat Yield Potential

There is mounting evidence that crop rotations that include winter canola and winter wheat are an economically viable alternative to continuously growing wheat in the traditional wheat regions of Oklahoma and Kansas.

Crop rotation is an important factor in alternating pest cycles including weeds, disease and insects. And the fact is that since wheat fields are prone to weeds, they benefit from rotation with Genuity™ Roundup Ready® Winter Canola.

Genuity™ Roundup Ready® Winter Canola varieties have been developed for seeding in the fall and harvesting the following spring or summer. This gives farmers an important option as a rotational crop in traditional monoculture winter wheat production areas.

The introduction of SURT (Sulfonylurea Residual Tolerant) Roundup Ready® products further enhances grower flexibility.

In field trials, SURT products have demonstrated the ability to be grown on fields where a long-residual Sulfonylurea herbicide was applied in the previous wheat crop and would be detrimental to canola growth. SURT Roundup Ready® products open up a vast number of acres where canola was previously not a viable option—resulting in more options for cleaner fields and much better control of weeds and insects.
