More Field-Testing Means More Proof of Performance
As demand for canola rapidly increases, so does the need to identify the best performing spring canola products.
A comprehensive field-testing effort conducted by North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota in 2008 is helping farmers identify top-performing canola hybrids. This effort was expanded in 2009, and in 2010 the program will include 16 trial locations and more participating seed brands.
The purpose of the trials is to identify and select the top-yielding spring canola products for the northern Plains. The trials specifically compare seed genetic and weed control performance of two different herbicide systems.
Compared to competitive weed-control systems, Genuity™ Roundup Ready® Spring Canola has been shown to provide a simple and profitable way to produce canola.

The Genuity™ Roundup Ready® products that are identified in these trials as top performers will be designated as Performance Ready™.
The Performance Ready designation is awarded by Monsanto to those Genuity™ Roundup Ready® Spring Canola products that excel in field trials conducted by North Dakota State University, the University of Minnesota and contract research companies. Performance Ready brands have to exceed the average yield of top InVigor® products at 60 percent or more of the trial locations. In addition, the average yield of the Genuity™ Roundup Ready® Spring Canola products across all trial locations must exceed the average yield of the InVigor® products by at least five percent.
